Pakistan, Dec. 8 -- Public frustration continued to rise in Honduras on Sunday as electoral authorities failed to release any updates on the November 30 national election results for more than 48 hours. With the presidential race still extremely tight, residents expressed growing concern over the prolonged silence from officials.
The most recent results, released on Friday, showed Nasry Asfura of the National Party leading with 40.19% of the votes. He held a narrow advantage of fewer than 20,000 votes over centrist candidate Salvador Nasralla of the Liberal Party, who stood at 39.49% with 88% of ballots counted. Rixi Moncada of the ruling leftist Libre Party trailed behind with 19.30%.
