Karachi, Jan. 23 -- Comedian and host Tabish Hashmi suggested privatizing Karachi following the Gul Plaza tragedy, criticizing government negligence. He said privatization could allow the city's diverse communities to manage it effectively. Hashmi made the remarks during a private TV program.
He recalled growing up in Karachi, attending school and university, and visiting Gul Plaza with his family. Hashmi noted that almost every household in the city owns items purchased from Gul Plaza and said many city associations have disappeared over the years.
