Pakistan, Jan. 1 -- Pakistan's Babar Azam equalled England's Jos Buttler record of 97 T20 fifties on Thursday. He achieved this milestone in BBL 15 against Melbourne Renegades. His unbeaten 58 off 46 balls helped Sydney Sixers chase 165 with six wickets in hand.

Babar reached the feat in his 333rd T20 match, including 11 centuries. Buttler took 476 matches and eight centuries to reach the same mark. The all-time record for T20 fifties remains with David Warner, who has 113 in 428 matches.

In the match, Renegades scored 164-9 in 20 overs. Josh Brown hit 43 off 19 balls, while Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 38. Hassan Khan contributed 39 runs, including three sixes, but Rizwan fell cheaply for six.
