Veteran sports journalist Syed Muhammad Sufi passed away in Karachi on Sunday at the age of 80. He had been unwell for a long time. He is survived by his wife and four sons. His passing has left a big void in Pakistan's sports journalism.

The Pakistan Cricket Board expressed deep sorrow over his death. PCB management extended condolences to his family and prayed for peace. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi called it the end of a golden era. He praised Sufi's lifelong dedication to cricket and said his legacy will always be remembered.
