Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- A powerful 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Sindirgi in western Turkey on Sunday evening, shaking several cities including Istanbul and Izmir. The Turkish disaster management (AFAD) reported that no deaths had been confirmed so far, but structural damage was significant. The quake caused panic among residents as buildings swayed and streets quickly filled with people seeking safety. Emergency teams were immediately dispatched to affected areas to assess the situation and begin rescue operations.
