Pakistan, Jan. 24 -- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged US President Donald Trump to apologize for insulting remarks about NATO troops. Starmer called Trump's comments on European allies in Afghanistan "insulting and frankly appalling." The UK leader emphasized that the sacrifices of British soldiers must be respected and honored.
Starmer's criticism followed Trump's claim on Fox News that European allies were "a little off the front lines" during the Afghanistan war. He noted that over 150,000 UK armed forces personnel served, and 457 British soldiers died during the mission. Starmer said, "If I had misspoken in that way, I would certainly apologize."
