Pakistan, Nov. 26 -- Spinner Simon Harmer took six wickets as South Africa crushed India by 408 runs in the second Test on Wednesday, sweeping the series and handing the hosts a record defeat. The victory marked South Africa's first series win in India in 25 years, after bowling India out for just 140 in a mammoth chase of 549 on day five in Guwahati.

It was India's biggest Test loss by runs and their fifth defeat in seven home Tests, following a 3-0 whitewash by New Zealand last year. Harmer, 36, finished with figures of 6-37, helping South Africa claim a Test series in India for only the second time, the first being in 2000 under Hansie Cronje.
