Pakistan, June 27 -- The Sindh government has taken a major step to modernize public transport by deciding to introduce a large number of electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid buses across the province. This decision came during a recent meeting of the Transport Department chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
Sharjeel Memon announced that within the next few months, double-decker buses will start operating on Karachi's busiest routes. These buses will provide higher passenger capacity and are expected to ease congestion on city roads. He further stated that the government aims to completely shift the transport system to electric buses in the near future to promote sustainability and reduce air pollution.
