Pakistan, July 10 -- KARACHI - The Sindh government has evacuated nine dangerously dilapidated buildings in Karachi's Lyari area following the tragic collapse of a multi-storey building that claimed 27 lives on July 4.

Senior minister Shajeel Memon confirmed on Thursday that demolition work on one unsafe structure had already started, and affected families would receive three-month rent support. The move follows public outrage and safety concerns in the densely populated area.
