Pakistan, Oct. 23 -- Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho has said that the primary objective of the Health Department is to provide quality healthcare facilities to the public. She warned that negligence in public health matters would not be tolerated under any circumstances, adding, "Those who do not work should stay at home."

Presiding over a meeting of all District Health Officers (DHOs) held in Karachi, Dr. Pechuho expressed strong displeasure over the performance of certain districts and directed that basic healthcare services at the primary level be ensured in every district. She categorically stated that "any shortage of medicines or staff at any health centre will not be tolerated."
