Pakistan, Oct. 2 -- Health authorities in Sindh confirmed a second case of mpox on Thursday, as a 28-year-old patient was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for specialized treatment and observation.
The patient first showed symptoms on September 15, including rashes and sores on the body, face, and throat. Officials said early diagnosis and care are critical to prevent further spread of the disease.
According to the Sindh Health Department, the individual had recently travelled to Dubai, raising concerns about possible international exposure. Health officials immediately sent samples for laboratory testing to confirm the diagnosis and identify the virus strain.
