Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced that water levels at Guddu Barrage will peak on September 9, and the provincial government is preparing to handle a massive flow of 800,000 cusecs.

During a press conference at the Flood Monitoring Cell in Karachi, he explained that heavy monsoon rains have created a flood-like situation in different regions, with expected flows reaching up to 700,000 cusecs at Panjnad.

He further said that around 217,000 cusecs of water will flow into the Indus River from Taunsa. Therefore, the administration has prepared for large-scale measures to minimize damage in vulnerable districts.
