Pakistan, April 19 -- Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will oppose the canal project before the upcoming budget. He emphasized that neither Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari nor President Asif Ali Zardari would allow this project to proceed, deeming it detrimental to Sindh.

During a media briefing in Bhan Saeedabad, Shah stated that a survey on the canal project was conducted, but all work has been halted. He reassured the public that the Sindh government would not prevent anyone from protesting against the canal issue. He acknowledged the right to protest as a legitimate expression of public concern.
