Pakistan, May 20 -- ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed immediate implementation of major reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), stressing the urgent need for digitisation and automation to tackle widespread tax evasion in Pakistan. While chairing a high-level review meeting, the prime minister called for fixing what he described as "70 years of mismanagement" in the tax system. He assured full support for honest taxpayers and businesses, but warned of strict legal action against tax evaders without any exceptions.
