Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir met U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday. This was their first official meeting since Trump began his second term in January 2025. The meeting started with a 30-minute delay as Trump was addressing media and signing executive orders. Despite the delay, the atmosphere remained positive. The leaders held talks for nearly 80 minutes in the Oval Office.

Also present were U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The high-level meeting took place behind closed doors. Notably, media was not invited - a rare move for President Trump.
