Pakistan, Oct. 18 -- The Punjab government has extended Section 144 across the province for seven more days, until October 24. This order bans all protests, rallies, gatherings, and public meetings. The Home Department issued a notification to inform the public and enforce the restrictions strictly.
Under Section 144, groups of four or more people cannot gather in public places. Authorities have also banned the display of weapons and the use of loudspeakers, except for Azan and Friday prayers. Moreover, the government prohibits the distribution of hate speech or sectarian material across Punjab.
