Pakistan, Feb. 9 -- Italy suffered a heavy 73-run defeat in their T20 World Cup debut against Scotland on Monday in Kolkata. Scotland posted 207-4, led by opener George Munsey's 84, and bowled Italy out for 134 in 16.4 overs. Off-spinner Michael Leask took 4-17 and also contributed 22 unbeaten runs with the bat.
Italy, the lowest-ranked side in the 20-team tournament, showed fight through a fourth-wicket partnership of 73 between brothers Ben and Harry Manenti. Harry scored 37 and Ben made 52, but the Italian batting collapsed afterward. Vice-captain Harry Manenti described batting with his brother at a World Cup as "special" despite the loss.
