Pakistan, July 10 -- ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court has dismissed former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry's request to stop trial proceedings in multiple cases linked to the May 9 incidents. The court advised him to approach the Lahore High Court (LHC) instead.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, heading the bench, firmly stated, "Be thankful the courts are functioning," after hearing arguments from both sides. The court made it clear that only the High Court has the authority to issue a stay on such proceedings.
