Pakistan, Oct. 21 -- Tokyo has made history as Sanae Takaichi becomes Japan's first-ever female Prime Minister. The 64-year-old leader won a clear majority in both houses of parliament. Her election marks a major political milestone for the country.

According to international media, Takaichi secured 237 votes in the Lower House. In the Upper House, she received 125 votes. These results gave her the support needed to take office as Prime Minister. She will officially be sworn in this evening.
