Pakistan, Feb. 6 -- Lieutenant General Vladimir Alexeyev, a top Russian military intelligence official, was shot multiple times inside a Moscow residential building on Friday. Investigators said the attacker opened fire and escaped immediately. Alexeyev was rushed to a city hospital, where he remains in serious condition, according to a law enforcement source.

Russian investigators confirmed a criminal case has been launched for attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms. Meanwhile, officials have not disclosed details about the suspect or motive. However, security-linked Telegram channels reported the general was shot in the back, raising concerns over insider threats.
