Pakistan, Aug. 1 -- A deadly Russian drone attack hit Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, killing 28 people and injuring 150 others. The strike happened overnight and caused widespread destruction in residential areas. Emergency services confirmed that many buildings caught fire. Rescue teams worked through the night to save people trapped under rubble. Officials say the death toll may rise.
Among the victims were 16 children, including a 2-year-old, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. She called the attack "a brutal act of terror" and urged the world to act. Medical teams treated dozens of injured people in nearby hospitals. Many of the wounded are in critical condition. Families are still searching for missing loved ones.
