The Danish star, chasing his second Stockholm title after winning in 2022, hit 12 aces and won 83% of his first serves despite needing a medical timeout for his thigh. Next up: Rune faces Ugo Humbert, who beat Italy's Lorenzo Sonego 6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-3. Second seed Casper Ruud also advanced, defeating Sebastian Korda 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4. He awaits the winner between Denis Shapovalov and Elias Ymer.
