Pakistan, Dec. 1 -- The milestone came during India's first ODI of the ongoing three-match home series against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. Entering the match with 349 sixes, Sharma needed just three more to overtake Afridi, who had smashed 351 maximums in his illustrious ODI career spanning 398 matches.
Sharma wasted no time in achieving the feat, hitting three sixes during his explosive half-century against the Proteas. This took his sixes tally to 352 in 269 innings, surpassing Afridi, who required 369 innings to reach his total.
