Pakistan, Dec. 18 -- Justice Project Pakistan and PCHR highlighted the plight of overseas Pakistanis in foreign jails. The groups marked International Migrants Day 2025 with a panel discussion in Islamabad. Speakers stressed urgent reforms to protect detained Pakistanis abroad.
The event brought together lawmakers, officials, lawyers, and civil society members. Participants reviewed current consular practices and identified major gaps. They agreed Pakistan needs a strong and rights-based protection framework
Senator Zeeshan Khanzada called for quick passage of the Consular Protection Bill. He said the bill would ensure consistent legal protection. He urged all political sides to work together on the issue.
