Pakistan, June 17 -- LAHORE - Today marks the fifth death anniversary of Tariq Aziz, the legendary voice behind Pakistan Television's golden era. Known for his famous greeting, "Dekhti aankhon, sun'te kaanon ko Tariq Aziz ka salaam," he left behind a legacy that still echoes in the hearts of millions.
Tariq Aziz was born on April 28, 1936, in Jalandhar. He began his broadcasting journey with Radio Pakistan Lahore before becoming the first male announcer on PTV when it launched in 1964. From that day forward, his deep, commanding voice became a staple on national television.
