Pakistan, July 8 -- DUBAI - Tensions escalated in the Red Sea after Yemen's Houthi rebels launched a fresh attack on a Liberian-flagged cargo ship, just a day after sinking another vessel. The latest assault on the Greek-owned Eternity C left two crew members injured and two missing, raising fears of renewed threats to global shipping routes.
According to the EU's anti-piracy mission Operation Atalanta and private firm Ambrey, the Eternity C was hit by bomb-laden drones and small boat fire while heading toward the Suez Canal. Security guards onboard returned fire, but the attack still caused serious damage. The vessel carried 21 Filipinos and one Russian crew member, along with three security personnel.
