Pakistan, July 31 -- Authorities have announced that the spillways of Rawal Dam will be opened today (Thursday) after the reservoir reached the critical level of 1,750.40 feet. This decision comes as a part of precautionary steps taken by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to control the rising water levels caused by ongoing monsoon inflows. The NDMA confirmed that the water inflow has steadily increased due to recent heavy rainfall in the region.
