Heavy rains in Islamabad and nearby areas have pushed Rawal Dam's water level to 1,751.80 feet, prompting the district administration to announce the opening of its spillways on Sunday morning. Officials confirmed that the decision was taken to prevent overflow and minimize potential risks.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration said the spillways would be opened at 8am. Citizens were strictly advised to avoid visiting low-lying areas and remain cautious during the discharge.
