ISLAMABAD, July 21 -- Intermittent rain continues to lash the federal capital, with heavy water flow causing urban flooding in low-lying areas and vehicles swept away by overflowing streams in Saidpur Village.

The downpour intensified the flow of seasonal streams, causing multiple cars to be dragged into the water. Due to encroachments in Saidpur, drainage was blocked, leading to standing water in several residential zones.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 12 hours in the twin cities and the Potohar region.
