Qatar has asked Pakistan to submit a formal proposal to either delay LNG cargo deliveries beyond 2030 or allow Qatar to sell some term cargoes internationally under the Net Proceeds Differential (NPD) clause. This request follows a growing mismatch between Pakistan's gas supply and demand.
A senior official said once Pakistan sends a written proposal, Qatar will respond with a counteroffer. Both countries will then negotiate until they reach a mutual agreement. This comes after Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) began diverting LNG cargoes to the spot market due to falling domestic demand.
