Pakistan, July 22 -- Qatar has officially submitted its bid to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games, marking a new milestone in the Gulf nation's sports journey. The bid was announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who emphasized that if successful, Qatar would become the first country from the Middle East and North Africa to host the Olympics.

According to AFP, the energy-rich Gulf state is eager to diversify its economy by hosting major global sporting events. Qatar has already proven its capacity by successfully hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The 2036 Olympics bid builds on that experience and reflects Doha's continued commitment to sports as part of its national development strategy.
