Pakistan, July 3 -- LAHORE - After a major salary hike earlier this year, the Punjab Assembly has now approved a bill granting full salary as leave allowance to provincial ministers, the Speaker, and the Deputy Speaker.

The Punjab Public Representatives Laws (Amendment) Bill 2025 was passed during a recent assembly session. It introduces key changes to the Punjab Ministers (Salaries, Allowances, and Privileges) Act, 1975, ensuring no deductions in pay during leave.

Previously, ministers earning Rs100,000 monthly were paid only Rs74,000 during one month of leave. Now, under the new law, they will receive Rs960,000 during their leave period - their full revised salary.
