Pakistan, July 28 -- Floodwaters from the Indus River have surged into urban areas of southern Punjab, submerging several villages and cutting off road links. The overflow from Taunsa has entered Dera Ghazi Khan, while the Chenab River has flooded over 10 villages in Jhang. As a result, vast croplands and residential zones are underwater, leaving people stranded and damaging infrastructure.
In Rajanpur and Hafizabad, the damage has been especially severe. Strong currents have destroyed standing crops, while erosion along the Chenab River has swept away hundreds of acres of farmland.
