Pakistan, July 8 -- LAHORE - The Punjab government has officially banned mobile phone use by hospital staff below BPS-18 during duty hours in all public sector hospitals. The move aims to boost emergency response and enhance patient care across the province's healthcare facilities.
According to two circulars issued by the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department on July 7, the government is now making pager systems mandatory in hospitals. Officials say pagers will help deliver critical alerts - such as Code Blue and Code Red - swiftly and without disruption.
