LAHORE, Jan. 27 -- The Punjab government has approved a Rs47 billion Ramazan Nigehban Package to support deserving families during the holy month, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced on Monday.

Under the package, 4.2 million families will receive Rs10,000 each. Over two million beneficiaries will be issued Nigehban Cards, which can be used to purchase essential commodities or withdraw cash through Bank of Punjab branchless banking agents and ATMs connected to the One-Link network.

To ensure smooth implementation, 136 card activation centres will be established across the province. A Ramazan Nigehban Dashboard will be set up for monitoring and verification. Ration card...
