Pakistan, Aug. 2 -- The Punjab government and Pakistan Railways have started a major Green Corridor Project in Lahore. The project will cover 40 kilometers of railway track between Shahdara and Raiwind. It will create green belts along the track to reduce pollution and improve the city's look. This initiative will use 700 kanals of land next to the railway line.
The project is worth over Rs2.25 billion and should finish within one year. Officials have divided it into four parts: Shahdara to Railway Station, Walton, Walton to Kot Lakhpat, and Raiwind. This plan will bring fresh green spaces to crowded urban areas. It also aims to support cleaner air and a healthier environment for residents.
