Pakistan, Dec. 22 -- President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday paid respects at some of the most revered holy shrines in Baghdad during his official visit to Iraq. The visit reflected Pakistan's spiritual and cultural ties with the Muslim world.

According to official sources, the president visited the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) in Baghdad city. He also paid homage at the shrine of Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (RA), offering Fateha and special prayers.

President Zardari, who is on a four-day visit to Iraq, later travelled to the Kazimiya area of Baghdad. There, he visited the shrines of Imam Musa al-Kazim (AS) and Imam Muhammad al-Taqi al-Jawad (AS).
