Pakistan, June 1 -- LAHORE - President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday called for deeper ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, highlighting the importance of mutual cooperation and people-to-people connections. Speaking at a special reception held at the Governor's House in Lahore, President Zardari stressed the need to heal past wounds and move forward for a better future.
The event was held in honor of the Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket teams, who are currently engaged in a cricket series. The reception was attended by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. President Zardari met with players and officials from both sides, appreciating their role as ambassadors of goodwill.
