Pakistan, June 1 -- LAHORE - President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday called for deeper ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, highlighting the importance of mutual cooperation and people-to-people connections. Speaking at a special reception held at the Governor's House in Lahore, President Zardari stressed the need to heal past wounds and move forward for a better future.

The event was held in honor of the Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket teams, who are currently engaged in a cricket series. The reception was attended by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
