Pakistan, June 26 -- LAHORE - Heavy pre-monsoon rain lashed Lahore and many parts of the country early Thursday, offering relief from the hot and muggy weather. However, the rain also caused damage and claimed lives in some areas.

In Punjab, rain-related incidents led to the death of a child and injuries to four others. In Okara's Riazabad, a roof collapse killed a young girl named Dua Fatima and injured two children, Mehwish and Iram. Rescue teams worked quickly to save the injured.

Another roof collapse in Talwandi near Kasur seriously injured two children who were rushed to a nearby hospital. In Hujra Shah Muqeem, roofs of three houses collapsed, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.
