Pakistan, July 27 -- PESHAWAR - Health officials have confirmed three new cases of polio in Pakistan, raising the total number of infections in 2025 to 17. Despite ongoing national vaccination efforts, the virus continues to pose a serious threat, particularly in vulnerable regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh.
The latest cases were reported in Lakki Marwat, North Waziristan, and Umerkot. According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), the infected patients include a 15-month-old girl, a six-month-old girl, and a five-year-old boy. The samples were tested and verified by the Regional Reference Laboratory in Islamabad.
