Pakistan, June 17 -- ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed the vital role of the blue economy in Pakistan's development, calling it a major force for national and regional economic progress.

While speaking at the soft launch of the second International Maritime Expo and Conference in Islamabad, the prime minister stated that Pakistan must fully explore its maritime sector to boost economic strength. He described the upcoming conference as a positive step toward this goal.

The prime minister also praised the Pakistan Navy for its unwavering commitment and professionalism. He cited examples like the 1965 Operation Dwarka and recent regional challenges to highlight the Navy's strong track record in defending the nation.
