Pakistan, April 14 -- Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of direct flights from Lahore to Baku, Azerbaijan, with operations set to begin from April 20, the national flag carrier said on Sunday.

According to the airline's spokesperson, PIA will operate two weekly flights on the route, with departures scheduled every Sunday and Wednesday. The move is aimed at strengthening tourism and trade ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

In connection with the new route, a special ceremony was organised in Karachi in honour of travel agents and tour operators. During the event, detailed information about the Baku flights was shared with attendees.
