Pakistan, June 20 -- The Petroleum Division has taken a new step by outsourcing the decision on which domestic gas consumers will face a price hike to the international audit firm KPMG. This is the first time an external firm has been given this responsibility.

KPMG has been assigned to advise the government on which domestic consumer categories should see an increase in gas prices starting July 1, 2025. This move comes amid pressure from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to implement necessary reforms.
