Pakistan, June 25 -- LAHORE - The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has announced the arrival of the first spell of monsoon rains, which will continue until July 1. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in most districts, raising concerns about flooding and landslides.
Early morning downpours hit Islamabad and nearby Rawalpindi, causing water to accumulate on roads and in low-lying areas. The rain continues intermittently, disrupting traffic and increasing the risk of urban flooding. Authorities are closely monitoring the rising water level in Nullah Lai in Rawalpindi.
