LAHORE, July 30 -- The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a new weather alert as heavy monsoon rains are expected to continue across the province over the next 24 hours. The PDMA has warned that urban flooding is likely in several major cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala.
According to the alert, heavy rainfall is forecast in the districts of Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Sialkot, where intense showers may cause water accumulation on roads and disrupt daily life. The PDMA noted that this monsoon system may persist until July 31, increasing the risk of both urban and riverine flooding.
