Pakistan, May 18 -- Citizens urged to stay indoors and follow safety guidelines amid rising temperatures

LAHORE - The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a red alert as a severe heatwave continues to intensify across major cities and plains of Punjab. Temperatures are expected to peak unusually high by May 19, raising health and safety concerns.

A PDMA spokesperson, while speaking to media, advised residents and tourists, especially those planning trips to Murree, to stay informed through weather updates. They urged people to avoid unnecessary travel and remain indoors during extreme weather conditions.
