Pakistan, July 31 -- The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a high alert on Wednesday as rising river levels and ongoing monsoon rains increase the risk of flooding across the province. Authorities cited continuous rainfall and rapid glacier melt as major contributors to rising inflows in rivers like the Chenab and Indus, which could soon overflow in vulnerable areas.
According to the PDMA, the Chenab River at Marala is already at a high level, recording 206,000 cusecs inflow and 179,000 cusecs outflow.
