Pakistan, June 22 -- ISLAMABAD - Pakistanis spent more than Rs317 billion on various online platforms run by foreign tech companies during the 2024-25 fiscal year, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance. Over 42.6 million transactions were recorded during this period.
FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial presented data highlighting top platforms like Meta, Apple, Google, AliExpress, Temu, and Netflix, which received significant payments from Pakistani users. Meta led with Rs12.3 billion in transaction value, while Apple recorded Rs6 billion across 5.1 million transactions.
