ISLAMABAD, July 5 -- Pakistan has welcomed around 350 Afghan students who have arrived to study in its top universities under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) received the students at its regional centre in Peshawar. This move marks a key step in improving educational ties between the two countries.

The students will join different fields of study across Pakistan. Before joining classes in the fall semester, they will complete a preparatory course. Moreover, 50 PhD and 100 Master's students from Afghanistan are expected to arrive in September 2025 under the same programme.
