Pakistan, July 3 -- Pakistan has called on the United Nations Security Council to take immediate and strong action to restore peace in Haiti, where gang violence has caused chaos and suffering. Speaking during a Council meeting, Pakistan's UN envoy Asim Iftikhar Ahmad warned that Haiti's streets have become battlegrounds and that time is running out.

Ambassador Asim emphasized that half-measures are no longer enough. He described the situation as critical, with gangs recruiting children, vigilante killings rising, and public services collapsing. He also stressed that hundreds of thousands of Haitians now live in fear, facing severe food shortages and economic turmoil.
